Margo E. Sharp is a sculptor, painter and mixed media artist living and working in Cincinnati, OH. A graduate of the Ringling College of Art and Design, Margo’s background as an installationist has given her an appreciation for materials and the combination of unexpected things. Though she was born in Ohio, Margo has lived all over. No matter how far from home, she has always maintained a connection with the Midwest region, that has inspired her work.
Margo utilizes manmade materials to construct her art, while drawing from a curiosity for nature to build her color palette. She borrows from the beauty found in the grand landscapes of canyons, forests and river valleys. In her latest body of work one finds textures that are remeniscent of the tiniest micro-enviroments such as moss, bark, and crystal.
A true individual, she believes that whimsy and chance can lead her heart, mind and a paintbrush. This sense of self has allowed her to develop a unique way of seeing this world, and the ability to create her own worlds, through artistic expression.
